DAY 1: CITY CENTER AND NORTH ISLAND TOUR
We meet at the check-in office at the entrance of Çeşme Customs Port at 08:00 in the morning for the Chios Island tour. After the passport control, we set sail into the blue of the Aegean at 09:20, reaching Chios Island after approximately 30 minutes of a pleasant ferry ride.
Following our entry procedures, we begin to explore Chios Island with our guide.
First, we start our walking tour in Apoloteria, the center of the island, where we visit the Mecidiye Mosque, built during the reign of Sultan Abdülmecit, Vounaki Square, and Chios Castle. After learning about the Ottoman artifacts within the castle, we board our vehicle and begin our North Island tour.
Our first stop is Tabakika, the historic four windmills on the seafront, which is one of the symbols of the island. We take a photo break here. Then we proceed to Daskalopetra, which is believed to be the place where Homer wrote his works. This rocky area, established as a school by his students in the 6th century BC, is significant both historically and culturally.
We take our lunch break in a charming fishing village called Langada. You can taste fresh seafood, mezes, and local delicacies at the taverns by the sea.
On our way back, we stop for a photo break at Agios Isidoros Church, one of the symbolic structures of Chios Island, located on the sea. It is said that the mastic tree is associated with this saint.
DAY 2: FREE TIME
After breakfast, you can spend the day as you wish.
You can shop in the center of the island, relax at the beachfront cafes, swim, or enhance your day with additional activities recommended by your guide.
In the evening, guests who wish can join a fun Greek night filled with traditional Greek cuisine highlighted by “bouzouki” accompanied by live music and dancing.
DAY 3: SOUTH ISLAND TOUR
After breakfast, we begin our tour of South Island. Our first stop is Armolia village, famous for its handmade ceramics. We take a short break in one of the ceramic workshops.
After that, we visit Mesta, the best-preserved medieval castle-village from the past to the present. We take a coffee break in the village square and visit the Taksiarchis Church.
Next, we proceed to Pyrgi village, known for its houses decorated with geometric patterns. We receive information from our guide about the special decoration technique known as “Ksista.”
We complete our tour with a lunch break at a seaside tavern. Here, our guests can taste their chosen seafood and mezes.
Afterwards, we go to the port and, after completing our customs procedures, we board the ferry for our return to Çeşme.
